Traffic Sign Recognition

What is traffic sign recognition?

Using a front-facing camera, the ADAS system detects traffic signs on the road. This is relayed back to the driver via the dashboard. Traffic sign recognition is a relatively new technology and has been incorporated into cars slowly compared to other technology.

What does traffic sign recognition do?

Traffic sign recognition alerts the driver to the speed limit for the ultimate convenience and is especially useful when you’re driving in an area unfamiliar to you.

How does traffic sign recognition work?

Front-facing cameras analyse speed limit signs by using a software that’s designed to pick out traffic signs from images and relay them back to the dashboard. The software continues to compare every sign that it picks up and alerts the driver every time there is a change in speed.
