Volvo’s Integration With Google Assistant-Enabled Devices

Car manufacturers around the world are always looking for ways to innovate and provide drivers with exciting new features. 

Volvo has become the first car maker to partner with Google and integrate the tech giant’s Google Assistant into its vehicles. 

Integrating Google Assistant allows drivers to talk to Google while in their car, to receive information related to their vehicle, and to control a variety of functions.   

From changing the car’s interior temperature to locking their vehicle using just their voice, Volvo owners will receive a driving experience like never before.    

Volvo was already leading the way in this area and was the first manufacturer to incorporate Google technology into its vehicles. Now it’s taken the next step, with the integration of Google Assistant set to be introduced in all its vehicles in the coming months.   

Volvo has become the first car maker to partner with Google and integrate the tech giant’s Google Assistant into its vehicles. 

In the future, it’s predicted that Google Assistant will help with a number of functions. Some of the commands that drivers may be able to ask could include:

• ‘Hey Google, warm up my car’
• ‘Hey Google, check my tyre pressure’
• ‘Hey Google, how many miles have I done?’
• ‘Hey Google, how is my charge?’
• and
• ‘Hey Google, do my fluids need topping up?’

Volvo’s future plans also include making the move towards the complete electrification of all its vehicles, and this integration helps them move a step closer to achieving that goal. It’s expected that future functionality will include the ability to schedule charging times for electric cars.
