With this in mind, it comes as no surprise that the country is charging towards more sustainable driving options, most obviously in the form of electric vehicles.

As well as the obvious environmental implications of fuel cars, many businesses are making changes to their fleet ahead of a big legislative change that’s coming into force in 2030.
In 2020, then Prime Minister Boris Johnson, announced that from 2030 onwards, no new petrol or diesel cars will be allowed to be sold in the UK. This came alongside a number of other environmental pledges including wind, nuclear and public transport schemes. This was part of a larger scheme to make the entire UK carbon neutral by 2050.
Currently, all electric vehicles are exempt from Vehicle Excise Duty but this will change in 2025 – meaning now is the perfect time to invest in an EV to avoid this tax.
