5 Supercars Without a Windscreen

As well as offering protection from the elements, windscreens play an important role in keeping drivers safe when out on the roads.

Providing a physical barrier between you and the outside world, it’s essential that windscreens remain in good condition.

So, why are some supercar brands releasing cars without windscreens?

While not necessarily practical, some manufacturers are releasing vehicles without windscreens for their aesthetic appeal and attraction to adrenaline junkies. This is because vehicles without a windscreen are more akin to driving motorcycles, and when combined with an open-air driving experience, you can certainly see the appeal.

Driving in this manner is actually legal, given you have the required mitigating factors in place. You can read all about what’s required to drive without a windscreen here.

In this article, we’ve outlined some of the supercars that have been released without a windscreen.

Take a look at the list below to learn more.

Pininfarina B95

Perhaps one of the most eye-catching supercars that come without a windscreen is the Pininfarina B95. The Italian manufacturer is well-known for its striking designs and the B95 is no different.

Featuring bespoke aluminium forged wheels, a quad electric motor and slick doors that open vertically, the B95 was released at the 2023 edition of Monterey Car Week and is set to start production in 2025.

The ‘B’ in the name is a reference to the Barchetta body shape with ‘95’ indicating 95 years between the year Pininfarina was founded and the 2025 release date of the B95.

Aston Martin V12 Speedster

Drawing inspiration from the brand’s rich motor racing heritage, the Aston Martin V12 Speedster features no roof or windscreen and has been described as an ‘uncompromising, visceral two-seater.’

Announced in 2020, the vehicle can go from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 186mph.

But it’ll set you back.

With only 88 models made to maintain exclusivity, those select few who do take the plunge will have to part with a staggering £765,000.

Ferrari Monza

Iconic sports car manufacturer Ferrari is no stranger to bold designs, and 2018 saw the brand introduce the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2

Inspired by the series of the same name that Ferrari released in the 1950s, both Monza models are single-seaters that give the driver a true racing experience. Often described as a ‘road legal Formula 1 car’, instead of a physical windscreen it features a virtual one, which is designed to move airflow away from the driver.

McLaren Elva

The McLaren Eva is the British automotive brand McLaren’s lightest-ever road car, and like all vehicles on this list, features no windscreen (unless customers request one).

It’s also the first model from the manufacturer that features the company’s innovative Active Air Management system. This system sees air guided up and over the driver creating, what McLaren calls, ‘a bubble of calm.’

Despite its inarguably attractive appearance, McLaren had to reduce the amount of units it was producing due to a perceived lack of interest.

Lamborghini SC20

No doubt the most exclusive vehicle on this list is the Lamborghini SC20.

Originally created as a track car, it’s since been road-approved but is not available for public purchase. This is because it was custom-made specifically to the requirements of an anonymous customer who helped with the project.

While these supercars are undoubtedly fun to drive and look at, their high cost and lack of practicality mean they’re extremely unlikely to ever become mainstream.
