The Top 5 Evs Coming Soon (2024)

The electric car (EV) industry is constantly developing and innovating.

With governments around the world introducing future bans on the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles (in the UK this will come into force in 2035), many manufacturers are turning their attention to creating new EVs that aim to advance the progression of the industry.

In fact, you can check out our previous blog on some of the plans many of the biggest manufacturers have for the coming years.

With these continuing developments in mind, new EVs are constantly being released. Therefore, here at The Windscreen Company, we thought it would be worth checking out the top five EVs that are set to hit the market soon.

Check out the list below to see our top picks of the EVs arriving in 2024.

The Best EVs for 2024

Alfa Romeo Brennero

Alfa Romeo has been behind the trend a little bit when it comes to EVs, and the Brennero marks its first battery-powered car. A small, fully electric, SUV, it is also the first model released with the help of the brand’s parent company Stellantis, which acquired the Italian manufacturer in 2021.

With this in mind, we can safely assume it’ll use the same e-CMP platform as other Stellantis-owned brands, like Jeep and Peugeot who already have their own EVs on the market.

Range: 250 miles  Price: £35,000 (predicted)

Audi A6 e-tron

Unlike Alfa Romeo, Audi is no stranger to EVs, with a range of models already on the market. 2024 is set to see its offering further expanded with the EV version of its iconic A6 model.

Customers will be able to choose between a coupe-inspired Sportback saloon model or, if you need something more practical, a family estate version of the A6.

Range: 400 miles  Price: £60,000 (predicted)

Citroen e-C3

With many consumers still being priced out by the steep initial cost of an EV, French manufacturer Citroen has tried to address this issue with the upcoming release of its e-C3 model.

Described as an ‘all-electric supermini for the masses’ this compact yet boxy vehicle combines fresh designs with excellent functionality, all at a reasonable price of less than £25,000.

Set to be released in the UK next year, petrol versions will also be available for those not ready to make the shift to electric.

Range: 199 miles  Price: Under £23,000 (exact price yet to be confirmed)

Dacia Spring

The first-ever EV released by Romanian manufacturer Dacia, while the Spring was first released in 2021, it’s yet to make its way to British shores. This is set to change in 2024 as Dacia has announced the vehicle will finally be able to be purchased here in the UK.

The UK is also set to receive a model that has had its exterior revised to look more sporty compared to some of the Springs you’ll currently see on the continent.

Range: 190 miles  Price: £20,000 (predicted)

Ford Explorer

Initially meant to have been with us by now, the highly-anticipated Ford Explorer’s release was delayed until 2024 due to battery safety regulations. However, it looks set to be worth the wait.

With a range of different types available that vary in size and battery capacity, buyers will be able to select a version that is most appropriate for their lifestyle. Plus, as standard, the Explorer will feature heated steering wheels, keyless entry and even massaging seats.

Range: 218-335miles  Price: £40,000 (predicted)

What is the future of EVs in the UK?

Interest in EVs has soared in the UK in recent years, with more currently on the roads than ever before.

It’s predicted that there are around 920,000 EVs on Britain’s roads right now in 2023, an increase of 300,000 compared to the previous year. Ever since EVs became widely available in the UK in 2015, there has been obvious growth year on year.

Last year, 25% of cars registered in the UK were EVs, demonstrating a staggering growth of 92% since 2020.

It’s predicted that by 2025, EVs will overtake ICEs in the UK car market, so it’s certainly a part of the automotive industry that is showing no signs of slowing down.
